Stakeholders
The stakeholders in an oiled wildlife incident are defined here as the bodies and organisations that can play a key role in the response to such an event.
In a well prepared country, these stakeholders are pre-identified and together they have agreed to a dedicated response plan. Key individuals are being trained and the plan is exercised regularly.
In a less well prepared country, the various stakeholders have to agree their roles and contributions instantly, in the early aftermath of an incident.
