When an oil spill is threatening areas which are known to be important for marine wildlife, the mobilisation of a wildlife response will probably be necessary.  Various response options can be considered by the wildlife response centre which must be set up as part of the wider oil spill response. The mobilisation of experts, facilities and equipment will be needed as well as the mobilisation of trained work forces. Wildlife response activities will take place at sea, on shorelines and in specialised facilities further inland.
